Vinery And Kia Ora To Join Forces

Tropicus: will stand his first season in 2026 | The Image Is Everything

Vinery and Kia Ora Studs have announced the consolidation of their stallion operations, with Kia Ora sires Farnan, Captivant and first-season sire Tropicus to relocate to Vinery ahead of the 2026 breeding season.

Vinery Stud and Kia Ora Stud have had a close relationship since 2023, when Kia Ora's Malaysian-born owner Ananda Krishnan bought into Vinery to become the seventh major partner, joining Gerry Harvey, Steve McCann, Neil Werrett, Alan Green, David Paradice and Greg Perry. Krishnan died in November 2024.

The trio will join a roster that includes champion first-season sire Ole Kirk, with Vinery's Adam White noting the appeal of the combined line-up.

“For Vinery, the inclusion of these young stallions just adds to what was already an emerging roster,” White said. “To think Farnan and Ole Kirk are now on the one roster is very exciting for both operations.”

A Group 1-winning sprinter by Too Darn Hot, Tropicus will stand his first season in 2026.
